4.2.8 Settling Time
The settling time (or response time) is the time interval, following the setting of a certain voltage or cur-
rent, required for voltage (current) to reach the final value. The 6145/6146 takes no more than 10 ms to
attain 0.1% of the full scale value for a change from zero to the full scale value. When remote control is
used, this settling time should be allowed for.
1. Voltage source
For voltage source, the settling time (Ts) to reach within 0.1% is 10 ms or less when the maximum
current limit value is set (with pure resistive load).
However, the settling time changes corresponding to the voltage source value (VS) and the current
limit value (IL) as shown in Figure 4-8.
The settling time should be fully allowed for in consideration of the figure below.
There is no effect on the 30 mV and 300 mV ranges because of the fixed limit values.

2. Current source
For current source, the settling time (Ts) to reach within 0.1% is 10 ms or less when the maximum
voltage limit value is set and the pure resistive load that does not activate the limiter with the maxi-
mum output in the range is used.
However, the settling time changes corresponding to the voltage limit value (VL) and the load resis-
tance (RL) as shown in Figure 4-9.
The settling time should be fully allowed for in consideration of the figure below.
