1.1 Introduction
The ARK-6310 industrial computer is a fanless wall-mountable/desktop computer
that is ideal for system integrators who require a compact and rugged computing
platform for embedded applications. With fanless operation, the ARK-6310 is dust-
proof and noiseless, and offers the best MTBF performance. The ARK-6310 accepts
standard Mini-ITX motherboards. Due to heatsink design requirements, it is strongly
suggested that only compatible Advantech motherboards be installed.
Full Range of Computing Platform Options
The fanless ARK-6310 provides a full range of computing platforms for user selec-
tion: from the cutting edge ARK-6310-6M01E with the Core™ 2 Duo processor, to,
the mainstream ARK-6310-3M01E with Pentium® M processor, down to the entry-
level ARK-6310-3M02E with the most cost-effective Celeron® processor. Other com-
puting platforms will be released in time and will share most of the ARK-6310
mechanical components. This modularized design concept will allow ARK-6310-
based systems to be upgraded without modifying or changing supporting equipment.
Outstanding Industrial and Mechanical Design
Unlike regular industrial computers, ARK-6310 has an innovative appearance for an
industrial computer system. It can be placed on the desk or mounted bi-directionally
by the supplied brackets. It can be easily placed or fix-mounted onto most surfaces,
such as walls or workbenches. The shockproof disk drive housing design protects the
system against harsh industrial environments or unexpected shock. The front access
I/O interface makes it easy to operate and maintain while installed in a ticketing
machine, medical equipment, or other apparatus where access is limited. The extra
COM, LVDS/DVI and TV cutouts are convenient for various applications. All these
outstanding features make ARK-6310 the best solution on price, performance, and
total cost of ownership.
