12.3 Adjustment work
12.3.1 Repositioning the bevel wheels on the WHG/KE Special / Super (specialised
workshop)
1. Switch off the tractor PTO shaft, apply the
tractor parking brake, switch the tractor
engine off and remove the ignition spanner.
2. Remove the universal joint shafts with the
universal joint shaft guard.
3. Thoroughly clean the gearbox cover and the
drive shaft so that no dirt enters the gearbox
housing.
4. Open the gearbox cover (Fig. 158/1).
5. Pull off the axial retaining device (Fig.
158/2).

6. Pull the drive shaft (Fig. 158/3) out of the
gearbox housing.
ď‚® The bevel wheel (Fig. 158/4) comes away
from the drive shaft.
The second bevel wheel (Fig. 158/5) sits on
the pinion shaft. The bevel wheel is not se-
cured axially.
7. Swap the bevel wheels among each other
(see section 5.5.2, WHG/KE Special / Super
gearbox, Fig. 34).
8. Fit the drive shaft together with the bevel
wheel.
9. Secure the bevel wheel axially to the drive
shaft.
10. Close the gearbox cover and cover gasket.
11. Check the gearbox for leak points.
12. Check the oil level.
13. Fit the universal joint shafts with the
universal joint shaft guard.
