1-3 Recommended Test Equipment
The following test equipment is recommended for use in testing and maintaining Anritsu Model MS2720T with
option MS2720T/709, MS2720T/713, MS2720T/720, MS2720T/732, or MS2720T/743.
• Table 1-1 is a list of test equipment that is required for verifying the spectrum analyzer functions on
Model MS2720T with option MS2720T/709, MS2720T/713, or MS2720T/720.
• Table 1-2 is a list of test equipment that is required for verifying the spectrum analyzer functions on
Model MS2720T with option MS2720T/732 or MS2720T/743.
• Table 1-3 is a list of test equipment that is required for verifying the functions of installed options on any
MS2720T Model.
• Table 1-4 is a list of replaceable parts for the MS2720T Spectrum Master.
a. Note that MG3692A models require Option 15 to achieve power of +16 dBm at 3.5 GHz. MG3692B and MG3692C models do
not require Option 15 to achieve power of +16 dBm at 3.5 GHz.

Caution
Factory tests have shown that the equipment that is listed above will provide satisfactory results at
20 GHz (the upper limit of the MS2720T/720) even though the chart above specifies 18 GHz
(per manufacturers specifications). Many Type N cables have excessive loss for testing the
spectrum analyzer section of the instrument up to 20 GHz. An SMA cable or K cable should
therefore be installed on the MG synthesizer for all spectrum analyzer tests on MS2720T with
option MS2720T/720.
