2. Set the MS2720T to Spectrum Analyzer mode and then Preset the instrument. Press the Shift key, the
Sweep (3) key, Sweep Mode submenu key, and then the Performance submenu key.
3. Set the MS2720T center frequency to 50 MHz.
4. Set the span to 10 kHz.
5. Press the BW main menu key and set the VBW to 10 Hz.
6. Set the RBW to 1kHz.
7. Press the Amplitude main menu key and set the Reference Level to 10 dBm.
8. Set the Atten Lvl to 30 dB.
9. Adjust the MG3692x or MG3695C power level so that the power meter Sensor B matches the Sensor B
value (Required Sensor B Reading) that is shown on the characterization chart (Table A-9) that was used
in the previous section,“Component Characterization” on page 2-15.
10. Press the Marker main menu key and press the Peak Search submenu key.
11. Record the Marker 1 amplitude reading into the “Measured Reading” column of Table A-10,
“50 MHz Amplitude Accuracy Verification, Specification = ± 1.3 dB” on page A-5.
12. Repeat Step 9 to Step 11 for each Input Power Level in Table A-10, change the “Reference Level” and
“Atten Lvl” settings as required. for the other power levels in Table A-10.
Amplitude Accuracy Across Frequency Verification
This procedure is the second test used to verify the absolute amplitude accuracy of the Spectrum Analyzer in
the MS2720T Spectrum Master. The first procedure test is described above in “50 MHz Amplitude Accuracy
Verification” on page 2-14.

Coaxial Cable, BNC(m) to BNC(m), 50 ohm
RF Coaxial Cable, N(m) to N(f), Anritsu Model 15NNF50-1.5C

Note
To maintain test setup integrity, do not disconnect Sensor B, the power splitter, or the fixed
attenuator.
