6-3 Other Problems
Battery Pack Charging Problems: refer to Chapter 4, “Battery Information”.
Touch Screen Issues:
1. The Touch Screen may have lost its calibration data. Perform a Touch Screen Calibration from the
System(Shift-8) menu.
2. Check the firmware version installed on the instrument and ensure it is the latest. If not install hte latest
firmware and re-do the touch screen calibration as described above.
3. Touch screen has been damaged or has failed, replace the touch screen.
Lock Error messages:
1. This message normally appears for 2 to 3 seconds when an external 10 MHz Reference is applied.
2. Spectrum Analyzer PCB has failed. Replace the Spectrum Analyzer PCB assembly.
Spectrum Analyzer Problems:
1. Inspect the Spectrum Analyzer RF In connector for damage.
2. Refer to the User Guide, run the Application Selftest.
3. Update system software using a USB memory device prepared with the current instrument firmware via
the System(Shift-8), System Options, Reset menu.
4. Spectrum Analyzer PCB has failed. Replace the Spectrum Analyzer PCB assembly.
Other Issues:
1. Perform a Factory Defaults Reset first, if issue is still present then perform a Master Reset. Be advised
that a Master Reset will delete all user saved setups, jpgs and measurement files, ensure you have
backups of these before performing a Master Reset.
2. Refer to the User Guide.
3. Update system software using a USB memory device prepared with the current instrument firmware via
the System(Shift-8), System Options, Reset menu.
4. Replace the Main Spectrum Analyzer PCB assembly.
