5-7 GPS (Option 31) Module Replacement
This procedure provides instructions for removing and replacing the GPS module from the Spectrum Master.
1. Open the case as described in Section 5-3 “Opening the Spectrum Master Case”.
2. Remove the SMA cable attached to the side of the GPS module.
3. Remove the 2 screws securing the GPS Module to the Main PCB Assembly .
4. Carefully lift straight up on the GPS module to remove it. The back of the GPS module is directly
connected to the Main PCB Assembly.
5. Replacement is the reverse of the removal. If you need to replace the GPS cable assembly continue with
the following steps.
6. Remove the SMA cable attached to the side of the GPS module.
7. Remove the Main PCB assembly from the front panel as described in Section 5-6 “Main PCB Assembly
Replacement”.
8. Use a 5/16 inch wrench ( ~ 8 mm) to remove the nut and washer holding the GPS SMA connector to the
front case.
9. Pull the GPS SMA connector out of the hole in the front case.
10. Replacement is the reverse of the removal. Torque the SMA connector nut to 7.5 in/lbs (0.85 Nm).
5-8 Fan Assembly Replacement
This procedure provides instructions for removing and replacing the FanAssembly from the Spectrum Master.
1. Open the case as described in Section 5-3 “Opening the Spectrum Master Case”.
2. Remove the fan cable assembly attached to the Main PCB Assembly.
3. Remove the 2 screws securing the Fan Assembly to the top case .
4. Carefully tilt and lift out the Fan Assembly module to remove it.
5. Replacement is the reverse of the removal.
5-9 LCD Assembly Replacement
This procedure provides instructions for removing and replacing the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) once the
Main PCB assembly has been separated from the Spectrum Master.
1. Open the case as described in Section 5-3 “Opening the Spectrum Master Case”.
2. Remove the Main PCB assembly from the front panel as described in Section 5-6 “Main PCB Assembly
Replacement”.
