2-6 Input Related Spurious (IRS) Signals Verification
The following test is used to verify the input related spurious signals of the spectrum analyzer in the MS2720T
at different frequencies.
Equipment Required for MS2720T with option MS2720T/709, MS2720T/713, or MS2720T/720
• Anritsu MG3692x Synthesized Signal Source (see equipment list for required options)
• Frequency Reference Symmetricom Rubisource T&M
• Anritsu 34VKF50 50 ohm Adapter
• Anritsu 15NN50-1.5C RF Coaxial Cable
• BNC male to BNC male Coaxial Cable
Equipment Required for MS2720T with option 732 or 743
• Anritsu MG3695C Synthesized Signal Source (see equipment list for required options)
• Frequency Reference Symmetricom Rubisource T&M
• Anritsu 34KFKF50 50 ohm Adapter
• Anritsu 3670K50-2 RF Coaxial Cable
• BNC male to BNC male Coaxial Cable
Procedure
1. Connect the 10 MHz reference source to the MG3692x or MG3695C Synthesized Signal Generator.
2. Connect the output of the Signal Generator to the Spectrum Analyzer RF In connector.

3. Set the MG3692x or MG3695C output to 1000 MHz CW, with an RF output level of –30 dBm.
4. Set the MS2720T to Spectrum Analyzer mode and then Preset the instrument. Press the Shift key, the
Sweep (3) key, Sweep Mode submenu key and then the Performance submenu key.
5. Press the Amplitude key, then press the Reference Level submenu key.
6. Use the keypad to enter –27, and press the dBm submenu key.
7. Press the Atten Lvl submenu key and enter 0, then press the dB submenu key.
8. Press the Detection submenu key and the Peak submenu key.
9. Press the Freq key and press the Center Freq submenu key.
10. Use the keypad to enter 1000, and press the MHz submenu key.
11. Press the Span key, use the keypad to enter 2, and press the MHz submenu key.
12. Press the BW key and press the RBW submenu key.
13. Use the keypad to enter 1, and press the kHz submenu key.
14. Press the VBW submenu key and use the keypad to enter 100, then press the Hz submenu key.
15. Wait until one sweep is completed.
16. Press the Marker main menu key and press the Peak Search submenu key.
17. Record the Marker 1 amplitude reading for 1000 MHz into the “Measured Spur Level” column of
Table A-4, “Measured Input Signal Level at 1000 MHz” on page A-3.
18. Press the Freq key and press the
Start Freq submenu key.
19. Use the keypad to enter 719, and press the MHz submenu key.
20. Press Stop Freq submenu key, enter 721, and press the MHz submenu key.
