Removing the tamper-protective shield
The Octave water meter is supplied with either an output module installed, or if
no output module was requested, a tamper-proof protective shield on the
connection port.
As noted above, the Octave RS-232 communication module uses the same
port the output module uses, so you will need to remove either the
factory-installed output module, or the tamper-proof protective shield.
In both cases the procedure is the same.
To do so:
1. Remove the tamper-proof sealing plug by piercing it with a slotted
screwdriver and pul
ling it out.
