4.5.4 TO/FROM Indicator
Each of the Compass Modes has a TO/FROM indicator. The TO/FROM indicator shows
whether the aircraft is heading toward a waypoint or radio navaid, or from a waypoint
or radio navaid. For each Compass Mode, the TO/FROM indication is slightly different, as
described in Table 4-5.
COMPASS DESCRIPTION
360°
The TO indicator is an arrowhead on the top half of the Course Pointer,
oriented in the same direction as the course arrowhead (Figure 4-49). The
FROM indicator is an arrowhead on the bottom half of the Course Pointer,
oriented in the direction opposite to the course arrowhead (Figure 4-50).
ARC HSI
The TO indicator is shown as two arrowheads, one on each half of the
Course Pointer, oriented in the same direction as the course arrowhead
(Figure 4-51). The FROM indicator is shown as two arrowheads, one on each
half of the Course Pointer, oriented opposite to the direction of the course
arrowhead (Figure 4-52).
ARC CDI
The TO indication is shown as TO on the left side of the Deviation Scale
(Figure 4-53). The FROM indication is shown as FROM on the right of the
Deviation Scale (Figure 4-54).
