17.6 Replace Winch Transmission Oil
1.
Change the oil on the winch gear (A) for the first time after 500 engine hours. There-
after once per year.
2.
Lubricate the drum brake disengager with oil if it does not rotate freely.

Change the oil on the winch gear (A).
17.8 General Checking Guidelines for Steel Cables
Steel cables should be scrapped when they display any of the following:
n Wire break at attachment
n Certain number and type of wire breaks
n Concentrations of wire breaks
n Occurrence of wire breaks due to operating time
n Occurrence of strand breaks
n Surface wear
n Effects of heat
n Reduced elasticity
n Decreased cable diameter
n Permanent extension of the cable
