8.5 Adjusting Threading Speed

Activate the threading speed by pressing button on the operator panel.

Raise and lower the threading speed using button and respectively.
8.6 RPCF System
RPCF (Rotation Pressure Controlled Feed) is used to regulate the drill feed pressure. To
maintain the rotation pressure at a sufficient level to keep the joins tightened. This regula-
tion is done by the RPCF valve detecting the rotation pressure while drilling. When the ro-
tation pressure exceeds the preset value for the RPCF valve, the feed pressure is lowered.
As a minimum to the low drill feed pressure. As the feed pressure drops, so will the rotation
pressure. This drop means that the feed pressure shown on the pressure gauge while
drilling is often lower than the high feed pressure setting. For a more detailed description,

8.6.1 Adjusting RPC-F System
The rock must be reasonably homogenous so that a stable rotation pressure can be ob-
tained to be able to make a good setting.
Precondition

The RPC-F pressure must be adjusted during drilling with at least two drill rods in the
drill string
p
The hydraulic oil must have reached normal operating temperature 40 °C (104 °F).
