6.8 Connecting the exhaust air system
NOTE - Lamp cooling exhaust air:
The lamp cooling of the instrument must
be connected to an exhaust system.
Failure to maintain the maximum exhaust
air duct length or the inclusion of more
than the maximum of two 90° elbows may
result in the instrument exhaust system
overheating. In turn, this will result in the
instrument safety equipment continuously
interrupting the power supply to the in-
strument.
Please observe the instrument exhaust
system requirements given in Section 3.3.
CAUTION - Hazardous UV radiation!
If the instrument is not connected to an
on-site exhaust system, hazardous levels
of UV radiation may be emitted.
UV radiation can produce irritation of the
retina and skin.
The instrument must only be operated
with an installed, functional exhaust sys-
tem.
Exhaust system connection, Fig. 25:
1. Place the adapter 1 for connection to the on-site
exhaust system on the connecting piece 2 in the
Xenotest
®
150 S+. The connecting piece diameter is
100 mm.
2. Check that the exhaust system has a clear opening to
the outside or that the on-site technical ventilation is
operating properly.
