6.3.2 Xenon lamp installation
1. Fig. 17: Insert the xenon lamp 2 into the lamp socket
9 and carefully push down all the way to the stop.
2. Insert the filter lantern 3 into the exterior cylinder 8.
Make sure the filter lantern is properly seated in the
cylinder base ring.
CAUTION - Overheating!
Aside from filtering light, the light filters
also act as heat absorbers.
If tests are run without light filters, the in-
strument may overheat, resulting in damage
to the samples.
Only ignite the xenon lamp if light filters
are installed.
3. Place the spacer tube 5 onto the flange tube 7.
4. Make sure the ground wire 6 is screwed to the flange
tube.
5. Close the exhaust cover with the connecting tube 4.
6. Reinstall the connecting piece 1 for the exhaust duct
or technical ventilation system.
