9.4 Cleaning
Cleaning filters and glass components:
Clean the exterior cylinder and the window glass filters
using a 20 % citric acid solution.
Wipe IR filters and UV filter glass clean using a dry cloth.
NOTE - Handling filter plates:
Residues from finger contact may burn
into the filter plates glass tube and cause
uneven irradiation.
Always wear clean cotton gloves when handling
filter plates.
Cleaning the water reservoir, Fig. 39:
To prevent the tubing and the test chamber from becoming
contaminated, the water reservoir should be drained and
rinsed with clean water prior to each test program.
1. Open the left instrument door and rotate the retaining
screws using a screwdriver.
2. Connect the coupling 2 of the water reservoir drain
hose to the connecting sleeve 3 of the water reser-
voir 1. The hose is located on the left side of the in-
strument at the water reservoir.
3. Empty the water reservoir using the drain hose.
4. Disconnect the drain hose from the connecting
sleeve.
5. Open the lower instrument door at the front side.
6. Remove the water reservoir.
7. Dry the reservoir using a clean cloth.
Cleaning the test chamber:
Clean the test chamber using liquid stainless-steel cleaners
without chlorine compounds.
Rinse with pure water to prevent cleaning agent residues
from entering the water recirculation system.
