Replacing the xenon lamp:
To comply with irradiation consistency, the xenon lamp must
be replaced after 1500 operating hours (see Section 6.3).
The recommended replacement after 1500 operating hours
is signalled by the program control. The age of the xenon
lamp can also be requested during a program run using the
"DATA" key (see software documentation).
Cleaning the water filter:
The dirt filter of the water pump must be cleaned every six
months. In case of stubborn dirt resulting from color slus
from samples or sample particles deposited during a test,
the air filter must be replaced.
After the dirt filter has been cleaned twice, it must be re-
placed.
Removing and installing the dirt filter, Fig. 38:
The dirt filter 6 is an integral part of the water pump 2. The
water pump is installed in the water reservoir 1 of the in-
strument.
1. Switch the instrument off using the master switch, dis-
connect the power plug from the mains socket and
protect it against accidental reconnection.
2. Disconnect the water hose from the connecting sleeve 3.
3. The water pump is attached to the floor of the water
reservoir with suction cups 5. Pull the pump off the
floor.
4. The protective grid 4 is attached to the pump hou-
sing. Pull the grid off.
5. Remove the dirt filter 6 from the protective grid 4
and rinse it thoroughly in tepid water.
6. Reinsert the dirt filter into the protective grid and at-
tach the grid to the pump housing.
7. Place the water pump onto the floor of the water re-
servoir and push it on slightly so that the suction cups
secure the pump.
