Diverts/Missed Approaches 7-3
Published Missed Approach
A recommended technique for executing the published missed
approach procedures is as follows:
Ensure the published missed approach is part of the active FMS
flight plan
Press “Enable Published Missed” L5 LSK when sequencing FAF
At the point when you decide to go missed, add power as
required
After the aircraft is cleaned up, go-around power applied and
climb-out attitude established, if not already done so, press the
“Enable Published Missed” L5 LSK on the PFD page
Press the “NAV” button and the “VNAV” button on the autopilot
control head after crossing the MAP.
Note: Do not press the VNAV button on the autopilot control
panel prior to crossing the Missed Approach Point (MAP).
RETRY APPROACH
If you were flying non-published climb-out instructions on vectors,
or you didn’t have a published missed approach as part of your
flight plan, press the HDG button on the DFC100 to activate
Vectors then use the heading bug control to select the desired
ground path.
If you had been flying a Vectors-To-Final (VTF) approach, and
the active leg of the flight plan is part of a published missed
approach, the L5 LSK displays “Retry Approach”. Pressing the
L5 LSK will put the autopilot into Vectors (HDG) mode with the
same VTF approach loaded and the inbound leg to the FAF
active.
