DATALOGS DOWNLOAD
There is extensive datalogging that is automatically done on all
IFDs. These datalogs can be accessed post-flight and used for
any number of purposes.
The contents of the data logs remain the property of Avidyne.
However, you are free to download and use the data for your own
training and safety improvement purposes. There are three types
of datalogs employed in the IFDs:
• System Logs – This log provides an in-depth record of
the navigation state. From this log, you can re-create all
aspects of the FMS output and autopilot state
• Flight Logs – This log provides a detailed record of your
aircraft state as measured by the on-board ADAHRS
system
• Engine Logs – This log provides details on your engine
and aircraft electrical state
A list of the detailed data contained in each follows.
The “Get Logs” tab on the “SYS” page provides two options for
downloading this data via dedicated LSKs. The first option allows
a download of all data logs onto the USB fob. The second option
downloads the data logged since the last time a download was
completed. Since the logs contain a large amount of data, the
second option will be a quicker option in almost every case.
Typical download times for full logs are:
• System Logs – approximately 4 minutes
• Flight Logs – approximately 4½ minutes
• Engine Logs – approximately 1 minute
In order to provide an indication of download progress, a progress
bar will be presented with both a symbolic aircraft indicating
download in progress and a % complete estimate. The files to be
downloaded can have one of three states – “Completed OK”, “In
progress…” and “Pending”.
