COOL FEATURE
Large Font on Keyboard When making an entry
via the keyboard such as a com frequency,
transponder code, nav frequency, autopilot target
bug or FMS flight plan element, the keyboard
display temporarily removes the datablock,
presenting the value being entered in a large font.
After several seconds, the keyboard display reverts
to previously set up datablocks.
There are two quick ways to get the standby frequency into the
active slot. Press either the “up & down arrows” key on the left
side of the keyboard display or press the left knob of the MFD.
There are dedicated volume controls for each radio along the left
edge of the keyboard display. Rotate the knob for volume and
push the knob to toggle the squelch on or off.
COOL FEATURE
Active Com Freq Decoded on PFD For those
systems using an Avidyne-compatible PS
Engineering PMA8000B or Avidyne AMX240 Audio
Select Panel, the active frequency of the selected
com radio will automatically be decoded and
displayed on the PFD below the VSI indicator. This
is a handy reminder of the agency to which you will
be transmitting while pressing the push-to-talk
button.
TRANSPONDER MODE & CODE INPUT VIA THE KEYBOARD
When integrated with a remote mounted transponder (no
dedicated transponder head in the instrument panel), the
keyboard is the primary location for transponder squawk code
selection. Start all transponder code changes by pressing the
“XPDR” function key along the top edge of the keyboard. Use the
keypad to type the desired squawk code. Once entered, the value
