2. Failure to do the maintenance procedures correctly and on a timely basis may
compromise instrument performance.
3. Maintenance procedures you must do are based either on a time schedule or on an as
needed basis.
a. Startup and Shutdown are daily maintenance procedures
b. Calibration is as needed or when required by your laboratory or regulatory agency
c. Replacing reagents or the rinse drain filter are as needed procedures
d. Extended cleaning is an as needed procedure
4. Maintenance done by your Beckman Service Representative is based on the number of
cycles; therefore, how often the maintenance procedure needs to be done is driven by
your laboratory’s workload.
5. From the Main Menu screen, click tt to access the Maintenance log.
a. The most recent log entry is displayed on the top of the log screen.
b. The Maintenance log saves entries for up to five years.
c. Prior entries in the log are deleted on a “first in, first out” basis as the capacity is
exceeded.
d. The system does not automatically make entries into the Maintenance log; when
you do a maintenance operation, you must enter the information in the log.
