Testing the STO function
Before commissioning the system the STO function
should always be tested for correct operation:
• With the motor at standstill, and a stop command
given to the FI:
– De-energise the STO input (FI will display
“INHIBIT”).
– Give a start command and check that the FI still
displays “INHIBIT”.
• With the motor running normally (from the FI):
– De-energise the STO input (FI will display
“STO-F”).
The STO function should be included within the control
systems scheduled maintenance program so that the
function is regularly tested for integrity (minimum once
per year), furthermore the function should be integrity
tested following any safety system modifications or
maintenance work.
5.11 Schematic wiring diagrams
Connect the VARIPACK frequency inverter in accord-
ance with the schematic wiring diagrams. Mount the
control switches S1 to S4 in the switch cabinet.
Individual connection of the compressor motor accord-
ing to the selected motor version and design. For de-
tails concerning the motor connection, see inside of the
terminal box of the compressor.
Reciprocating compressors:
The schematic wiring diagrams include optional oil
monitoring. Without such monitoring, the Delta-PII or
OLC-K1 and the components S04 and P04 can be
omitted. The auxiliary relay K19 and the pressure
switches B10 and B11 should in this case be installed
in path 7 at connection 14 of the B01 (SE-B*).
