The COPY FMC DATA function is useful when input conditions change after the
airplane performance has been calculated. New data can be generated by first
entering the new values into the appropriate fields on the FMC, and then on the
OPT performance page select the COPY FMC DATA soft key. This transfers all
of the previously listed FMC conditions into the respective OPT fields. All data
fields are transferred from the FMC to the OPT, regardless if the field has changed
or not, and will have a green colored box around the entry field. The green box
draws attention to the fields that have been copied from the FMC. Verify the new
data is correct, enter the CG, and select CALC to recalculate the aircraft’s
performance using the updated conditions. Finally, select the SEND OUTPUT
soft key and then the SEND TO FMC option to transfer the new performance to
the FMC. The message SENDING TO FMC appears above the SEND OUTPUT
soft key and the soft key turns cyan while the data is being sent. A takeoff uplink
from the OPT will be pending on the FMC. Review and verify the data then select
ACCEPT or REJECT as required.
Performance calculations can also be updated without using the COPY FMC
DATA function. Change the necessary data directly in the OPT application by
entering the new values in the appropriate fields. Select CALC to recalculate the
aircraft’s performance using the updated conditions. Now select the SEND
OUTPUT soft key and then the SEND TO FMC option to transfer the new
performance to the FMC. The message SENDING TO FMC appears above the
SEND OUTPUT soft key and the soft key turns cyan while the data is being sent.
A takeoff uplink from the OPT will be pending on the FMC. Review and verify
the data then select ACCEPT or REJECT as required.
When SEND TO FMC is selected, the FMC receives the following information
from the EFB:
• thrust limit / assumed temperature
• V-speeds
• flap setting
•CG
•wind
• engine out acceleration height
The message SENDING TO FMC appears above the SEND OUTPUT soft key
and the soft key turns cyan while the data is being sent. A takeoff uplink from the
OPT will be pending on the FMC. Review and verify the data then select ACCEPT
or REJECT as required.
There are many other data points besides the standard FMC takeoff data that can
be transmitted using the SEND OUTPUT function. To send customer defined
performance data from the FMC; select SEND OUTPUT, select the required
destination (Printer or Storage), and then select COMPLETE to send. Select
CANCEL to return to the performance page without sending.
