portable flight deck emergency equipment locations
portable passenger cabin emergency equipment locations
Emergency Evacuation Signal System
[Option – EVAC switch at attendant panel(s)]
The emergency evacuation signal system alerts the flight crew and the flight
attendants to evacuate the airplane. Evacuation command switches are located on
the flight deck aft aisle stand, and at designated flight attendant switch panels.
Placing the flight deck EVAC COMMAND switch to ON activates the following
evacuation signals:
EVAC COMMAND EICAS warning is displayed on the flight deck
EVAC lights flash at the designated flight attendant switch panels
an aural horn sounds over the cabin PA system
With the flight deck EVAC COMMAND switch in the ARM position, pressing an
EVAC COMMAND switch on a flight attendant switch panel activates the same
evacuation signals. The ARM switch position is the normal operating position.
With the flight deck EVAC COMMAND switch in the OFF position, the
evacuation command signal is off, and all emergency evacuation panel switches
in the cabin are disabled.
Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT)
Passenger Cabin
ELTs are installed in the passenger cabin, as shown in the Emergency Equipment
Locations – Passenger Cabin diagram.
[Option – Fixed ELT]
Fuselage Mounted Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT)
An ELT is mounted to the top of the fuselage in the passenger cabin area.
