8.2 Emergency STOP Interlock
8.2.1 General Information
If a total system shut down (‘system power emergency OFF’) is desired or required by local
regulations, an external circuit must be installed in addition to the mandatory emergency ST
OP
circuit at the mains of the ExacTrac computer cabinet (1.0) and generator cabinet (2.0). For more
information, see the following sections.
Emergency STOP either via the External interlock input (building installation) or from linac
interface is mandatory. The emergency OFF circuit via system power only is not sufficient.
Effects of Emergency ST
OP (EMO Outputs)
The ExacTrac emergency STOP prevents hazards that could occur from risks arising from the
intended operational states. The following table shows the effect that hitting the EMO button has
on ExacTrac:

NOTE: The ExacTrac computer cabinet and workstations, as well as devices with extra low
voltage remain powered in case of an emergency ST
OP. The X-ray generators enter stand-by
mode.
Sources that Assert ExacTrac EMO (EMO Inputs)
All operational risks in one room installation should be cut-off by the same emergency Off button
chain. Therefore, ExacTrac 6 does not provide a separate button or a direct user interface for
emergency OFF
. Instead, ExacTrac contains an interface to connect to different centralized
emergency OFF circuits.
Check the table on page 81 whether your linac provides the 3rd party motion interface (“Linac”). In
this case no building installation is required. Brainlab Service will connect the ExacTrac system to
the centralized emergency OFF circuits in the treatment room.
Otherwise, provide the interface to the building installation as specified below.
