8 Silence Alarm Devices
In FT1020G3 front (FBP section) the push button "SILENCE ALARM" (P2) is available,
used to silence the warning devices, refer to Figure 3, page 14.
When the alarm devices are activated (sounding) and the push button "SILENCE ALARM"
is pressed during a pre-warning, a fire alarm

or a Co-incidence alarm, the following will
happen:
The symbol is shown in the display, to the right of the "Soft key” area.
Activated outputs programmed for OWS or sounders (type "Alarm devices"), will
be silenced

In case of a new alarm or if the push button "SILENCE ALARM" is pressed again, the fire
alarm devices will automatically re-sound.
In EBLWin, if the option button “Silence alarm devicesdisables alarm devices is selected,
the button "SILENCE ALARM" (P2) will have the same function as the menu “Alarm
Devices (H2/B4)page 100. See chapter "Disable / Re-enable alarm devices", page 42.
If sounders or OWS are programmed with type “Alarm devices for evacuation” they will not
be silenced by the "SILENCE ALARM".
Note 1: This option (Button Silence alarm devices disables alarm devices) must not be
used in the Australian convention as this is a violation to AS4428.3: 2010.
Note 2: In the NZ convention, the function is already implemented in the firmware i.e.
there is no need to tick the check box.
The “FIRE” LEDs will indicate steady instead of blinking when the alarm devices are
disabled.
8.1 SILENCE ALARM (inside switch)
Note: The functions in this chapter are used only in the New Zealand convention.
The button "SILENCE ALARM" (P2) is called inside switch, it operates slightly different in
the NZ convention as shown in the following section.
