Foruphillanddownhilltravel,approachtheslopeasout-
linedinthepictures.
Theundercarriageshallbeorientedalongtheslope,with
thebladefacingthedirectionoftravel,andwiththetravel
reductiongearsonthebackside.
Theupper-structureshallbealignedtotheundercarriage,
andshallbeorientedinordertograntstraightvisibilityto
thedirectionoftravel.
Thefrontequipmentshallbealignedtothedirectionof
travel,andshallbepositionedinordertohavethearmin
verticalposition,andthebottomsideofthebucket20–
30cm(7.9–11.8in)fromtheground.
NOTICE:duetohydraulicsystemcharacteristics,when
travelingandmovingarmsimultaneouslymachinemay
slightlydeviatefromintendeddirection.Payattention
whentravellingonslope,loadingorunloadingfromtruck
ortrailerorinotherconditionswithconnedlateralspace.
Whentravelingalongaslope,neverswingtheupperstruc-
tureortheboomfromthestraightposition.Inparticu-
larduringuphilltravel,neverattempttoswingtheupper
structuretowardsthebottomoftheslope:themachine
couldtipover.
Ifthemachinestartstoslideorlosesstabilitywhentrav-
elingalongaslope,immediatelylowerthebuckettothe
groundandreleasethetravelcontrols.
Nevermaketurnswhentravelingalongaslopeinorder
nottoaffectthebalanceofthemachine.Ifchangingofthe
traveldirectionisneeded,makesuretoreachahorizontal
areainordertocompletetheturningmovement.

Iftheenginestopswhentravelingalongaslope,immedi-
atelylowerandindentthebucket(1)andthedozerblade
(2)intotheground.Releaseallthecontrols,setthesafety
levertotheLOCKposition,settheenginespeedthrottle
tothelowidleposition,andthenstarttheengineagain.
Iftheenginedoesnotstart,removethestarterkey,and
placethe"Donotoperate"tagonthemachinecontrols.
Getofftheoperator'scompartment.Blockbothtracksby
meansofwedges(3),and,ifequipped,locktheupper-
structure(refertopage3-29).
Deneasafeareaofatleast3m(9.8ft)aroundthema-
chine,cleaningthisareafromobstaclesandbystanders.
