8.Fillthesystemwithamixtureofsodiumcarbonateand
water(oracommerciallyavailableequivalent).
NOTE:use0.5kg(1.1lb)ofsodiumcarbonateforevery
23L(6.1USgal)ofwater.
9.Donotinstalltheradiatorcap.Theengineistobe
operatedwithoutthecapforthisprocess.
10.Operatetheenginefor5minandletthecoolanttem-
peraturearrivesabove80°C(176°F).
11.Stoptheengineanddrainthecleaningmixture.
12.Fillthecoolingsystemwithcleanwater.
NOTE:besuretoventtheengineandradiatorforcomplete
lling.Donotinstalltheradiatorcapornewcoolantlter.
13.Operatetheenginefor5minandletthecoolanttem-
peraturearrivesabove80°C(176°F).
14.Stoptheengine,anddrainthecoolingsystem.
NOTE:ifthewaterbeingdrainedisstilldirty,thesystem
mustbeushedagainuntilthewaterisclean.

17.Duringlling,airmustbeventedfromtheengine
coolantpassage.
18.Installtheradiatorcap.
19.Starttheengineuntilitreachesatemperatureof80°C
(176°F),andcheckforcoolantleaks.
20.Checkthecoolantlevelagaintomakesurethesystem
isfullofcoolant.
