Workoutameansofconvenientescapefromthema-
chine(emergencyexitviathewindshieldortherear
windowglass)intheeventofthemachineturningover
ortippingoverorthecabdoorbeingjammed.
•
Makesureyouarefamiliarwithtrafcregulationsand
specialsafetyequipmentrequirementsbeforetrans-
portingthismachineonapublichighway.
•
Whenloadingtrucks,neverswingtheloadoverthe
truckcab.
•
Beforeundertakinganytravelonthejobsite,makesure
theitinerarytobefollowedissafe.Ifbridgesaretobe
crossed,makesuretheyarecapableofsupportingthe
weightofthemachine.
•
Alwayssteerroundlargeobstaclessuchasboulders,
bigtrees,etc.
Quickcoupler(optional)
•
Everyday,checkthatthelockingbarfunctionscorrectly
andthatitisnotfouledbyforeignmatter.Cleanthe
lockingsystemifnecessary.
•
Ifyoumustusethequickcouplerwithbucketsnot
manufacturedbyCASECONSTRUCTION,makesure
thediameterofthepinsandthewidthbetweenthe
bucketlugsmeetthedimensionsneededtotthe
quickcoupler(pins,washers,bushings,etc.).Consult
yourCASECONSTRUCTIONDealer.
Operatingthemachine
•
Whenworkingonapublichighway,usestandardtraf-
csignsandtakeintoconsiderationtheworkingrange
oftheupperstructureanditsattachments.Localorna-
tionalregulationsstipulatethenumber,type,andloca-
tionofreectorstrips.
•
Avoidrunningtheengineinaconnedspace.Ifthere
isnoalternative,properventilationmustbeprovidedat
alltimes.
•
Donotallowanyoneelseonthemachine.Thepassen-
gercouldfallorcauseanaccident.
•
Neveroperatetheworkingortravelcontrolsunlessyou
areproperlyseatedintheoperator’sseatwiththeseat
beltcorrectlyfastened.
•
Beforestartingtheengine,checkthedirectionoftravel
(inforwarddrive,thereductiongearsshouldbetothe
rearofthemachine).
•
Donotworknearoverheadhigh-voltageelectriclines
withoutcheckingbeforehandthatallnecessarymea-
sureshavebeentakentorespecttheminimumdis-
tances:
Lessthan57000volts:3m(9.8ft).
Morethan57000volts:5m(16.4ft).
•
Studythepositionofanyexistingpipelinesorconduits
beforestartingwork.Electricalcables,gasandwater
pipes,andotherundergroundinstallationscancause
seriousinjury.
•
Alwaysmakeallowanceforworkingconditions(slop-
ingorroughground),thesite,andweatherconditions
whendrivingthemachine.
•
Donotallowanyonetostandinthemachineworking
area.Accidentaloperationoftheupperstructureswing
controlorofanattachmentcontrolcouldcauseanac-
cident.Stopalloperationsuntileveryonehasmoved
away.
•
Beforeoperatingthedozerblade(ifequipped)make
surethatthereisnooneintheworkingareaofthedozer
blade.
•
Operateallcontrolsgraduallytoensuresmoothma-
chineoperation.
•
Wheneverloadhandlingoperationsaretobecarried
out,itisimperativetoadherestrictlytotheinstructions
giveninthismanualandlocallegislation.
•
Itisforbiddentousethemachinetocarryouttasks
otherthanthoseforwhichitisintended.Neverusethe
equipmentforsweepingthegroundtoleveloutrubble
orpushobjects(theseactionscausetransversalstress
ontheattachment).
•
Stoptheengineandremovetheignitionkeywhenthe
machineisnotinuse,evenforshortperiodsoftime.
•
Theworkingareaoftheendattachmentthatismounted
mayinterferewiththemachine.Interferencemaybe
causedduetothetypeofendattachmentorinstalla-
tionofpartssuchasacabguard.Alwaysmaintaina
safemarginofdistance.(Becarefuloftoolswingorac-
cidentaloperations.)
•
Toaccessorexittheoperator’scompartment,theleft-
handcontrolarmmustbeintheraisedposition.Never
forgetthisbasicrequirement.
•
Neverleavetheoperator'scompartmentwhiletheen-
gineisrunning.
•
Togetinoroutofthecab,itisimperativethattheup-
perstructureframeisinlinewiththeundercarriage.
•
Dust,smoke,ormistcanreducevisibilityandcausean
accident.Reducespeedorcometoacompletehalt
untilvisibilityhasimproved.
•
Neverjumpdownfromthemachine.Whenyouexit
themachineortheupperstructure,alwaysfacethema-
chineandusethestepsandaccesshandles.
•
Intheeventofanoperatingproblemorfailure,move
themachinetoasafeplace,lowertheattachmenttothe
ground,shutdowntheengine,andremovetheignition
key.Locatetheproblem,reportitifnecessary,andtake
