28. Open the instrument door. Remove the furnace door and place it in the furnace

door holder.

29. Using metal tongs, remove the crucible(s) containing the sample(s) from the

ashing furnace.

30. Install the furnace door and close the instrument door. Press the START key.

31. Press the “Balance” key.

32. Using the arrow keys, highlight Final Weight. Press the SELECT key.

SELECT key.

Clear the external balance pan

and press NEXT

34. Ensure that the external balance is clear. Press the NEXT key.

TARING BALANCE

35. Wait for the instrument to tare the balance.
