VQPCLIENT Messages
Error Message VQPCLIENT-2-SHUTDOWN: Interface [chars] shutdown by VMPS
Explanation
The VMPS directed that an interface be shut down. [chars] is the interface name.
Recommended Action This is an informational message only. No action is required. If you think that
the port should not have been shut down, then verify the configuration on the VMPS.
Error Message VQPCLIENT-2-TOOMANY: Interface [chars] shutdown by active host limit
Explanation The system shut down an interface because too many hosts have requested access to that
port. [chars] is the interface name.
Recommended Action To reactivate the port, remove the excess hosts, and enter the no shutdown
interface configuration command on the interface.
VQPCLIENT-3
Error Message VQPCLIENT-3-IFNAME: Invalid interface ([char]) in response
Explanation
The VMPS sent an unsolicited response with an unknown interface name. [chars] is the
name of the unknown interface.
Recommended Action Verify the VMPS configuration.
Error Message VQPCLIENT-3-THROTTLE: Throttling VLAN change on [chars]
Explanation An attempt was made to change the VLAN assignment for an interface more often than
once every 10 seconds. The VLAN change is denied. [chars] is the name of the interface.
Recommended Action This is an informational message only. No action is required. If this message
reoccurs, verify the VMPS configuration and that unexpected hosts are not connected to the port.
Error Message VQPCLIENT-3-VLANNAME: Invalid VLAN ([chars]) in response
Explanation
VMPS specified a VLAN name that is unknown to the switch. [chars] is the invalid
VLAN name.
Recommended Action Make sure that the VLAN exists on the switch. Verify the VMPS configuration.

Error Message VQPCLIENT-7-NEXTSERV: Trying next VMPS
Explanation The system lost connectivity with the current VMPS and is changing to the next server
in its list.
