Chapter 2 Installation
Installing the Switch in a Rack
• When mounting a Catalyst 2950G-48-EI switch in a 19-inch rack, use three
of the Phillips flat-head screws to attach the long side of the 19- or 24-inch
bracket to the switch. See Figure 2-4, Figure 2-5, and Figure 2-6.
• When mounting a Catalyst 2950G-24-EI-DC switch in a 23-inch rack, use
two of the Phillips truss-head screws to attach the 23-inch bracket to the
switch. See Figure 2-7, Figure 2-8, and Figure 2-9.
• When mounting a switch in a 24-inch rack, use two of the Phillips truss-head
screws to attach the 19- or 24-inch bracket to the switch. See Figure 2-10,
Figure 2-11, and Figure 2-12.
Figure 2-1 to Figure 2-12 show how to attach a bracket to one side of the switch.
Follow the same steps to attach the second bracket to the opposite side of the
switch.
