Faults triggered by the frequency converter (VSD) (F000 - F399) (RS)
Display Possible Cause Remedy
Fault VSD Fxxx
The frequency converter (VSD)
detected a fault with error number
xxx that was not subsequently
listed.
Contact Gardner Denver Service.
Fault VSD F003 .. F004
VSD undervoltage. Check the power supply.
Check fuses, renew if necessary.
Check main contactor (compres-
sors with PowerFlex 400 VSD
only).
Check that all connecting termi-
nals and plugs are tight; retighten
if necessary.
Fault VSD F007
Motor overload of the VSD. Check the power supply. Check
back-up fuses, renew if neces-
sary.
Check main contactor (compres-
sors with PowerFlex 400 VSD
only).
Check that all connecting termi-
nals and plugs are tight; retighten
if necessary.
Fault VSD F008
Frequency converter (VSD)
overtemperature.
Check the cooling air inlet filter
of the switch cabinet for dirt and
renew if necessary. See the com-
pressor operating instructions.
Ensure that the through ventila-
tion of the switch cabinet and the
VSD fans are working correctly.
Check VSD outlet and inlet for
blockages in the cooling air sup-
ply and dirty cooler fins.
Fault VSD F017
Single phase loss of the VSD. Check the power supply.
Check back-up fuses, renew if
necessary. Check main contac-
tor (compressors with PowerFlex
400 VSD only).
Check that all connecting termi-
nals and plugs are tight; retighten
if necessary.
Fault VSD F021
Output phase loss of the VSD. Check wiring from VSD to drive
motor.
Check that all connecting termi-
nals and plugs are tight; retighten
if necessary.
Check motor winding.
