Tocalibrate:
1. After proper operating levels have been established in online SSPA 1 and 2, store their
attenuationsettingsusingtheSBO=command inthebackupunit.
Forexam
ple
SSPA1,theactiveSSPA,requires15.00dBofattenuation.
SSPA 2, the BU unit, requires 10.00 dB: Enter the remote commands SBO=1,15.00 and
SBO=2,10.00tostorethesevalues.
2. SendtheFBU=1commandtotheBUunit.ThiswillforcetheBUunittoreplaceSSPA1.The
BU unit will read the setting stored by the SBO=1 command (i
n this example, 15.00) and
applythisvaluetoitsownattenuationsetting.Thisvaluecannowbetunedtocompensate
foranygainmismatch.
For example, if the output power is 1 dB too high in this state, send ATT=16.00 to the BU
unit.IftheTxlevelisnowcorrect, sendSBO=1,16.00totheBUuni
t.
RepeattheaboveprocesstoachievedesiredlevelmatchingandforSSPA2.
