the cable position. In
this configuratio
n, the BU is responsible for monitoring the two online
unitsforcommunications andsummaryfaults.
WhiletheBUisconstantlymonitoringbothunitsfortheirstatus,ifeitherhasafault,usethelast
(good) status as the configuration for the BU before the BU goes online. Once the BU goes
online, the r
edundancy auto/manual status reverts to manual mode, and the BU stays online
untilresetbytheuser.
The usermay reset thesystemby issuing a FBU=0 command to place theunitsback into auto
mode.Whenissuingthiscommand,theBUthenswitchesbacktothe“normal”configuratio
nof
SSPAs 1 and 2 online. The system can be operated manually by sending an FBU=1 command
(whichforcesSSPA1tobebackedup),oraFBU=2command(whichforcesSSPA2 tobebacked
up)totheBU.
