The External System will typically be a supervising system that reads the status of
the CFD5000 FDS interfaces and takes decisions based on this.

Internal interfaces
The modules in the CFD5000 FDS communicate with each other using the SSP
Bus. This bus is an internal part of the CFD5000 FDS and has no communication
with non-SIL parts of the system.
The loop units communicate with the loop driver via the IDAxt communication
protocol. This bus is also an internal part of the CFD5000 FDS.
