What to do if I get Error 30-140 on my Contex Barcode Reader?
    • J
      John JacobsAug 16, 2025
Error 30 is often caused by dirt on the Glass Plate or the White Background Plate. The first step should be to make sure that these parts are clean. Other possible solutions include checking the Light Profiles using SCANtest 6, Test 9. If the Light Profile is distorted, the cause may be incorrect Vertical Alignment. You can run SCANtest 6, Test 11 or Scanner Maintenance. Lamp issues, corrupted Basic Calibration, or a defective CBE/CBF-Board could also be the cause. It is also possible to override Error 30 from WIDEimage and continue with the scanning.

What to do if my Contex COUGAR 36 Barcode Reader shows Error 32-144?
    • E
      Emily AllenAug 22, 2025
If you are experiencing Error 32-144 to 30-146 or Error 32-244 to 30-246 on your Contex Barcode Reader, ensure that the Glass Plate and the White Background Plate are clean. Check the images of the Stitching wire using SCANtest 6, Test 9. It could also be due to one of the CCD-Cameras being out of focus, a broken Stitching Wire, or CCD-Centering being out of adjustment. You can also try running Scanner Maintenance or replacing the SUC-Board.

Why is my Contex COUGAR 36 Barcode Reader producing vertical lines?
    • D
      Desiree JenningsSep 3, 2025
Vertical lines in scanned images from your Contex Barcode Reader are often caused by dust or dirt on the Glass Plate. If you had to remove a CBE/CBF-Board for replacement or cleaning of the CCD-chip, refer to Chapter 4, page 79 for adjustment instructions.

How to resolve original feed problems with Contex Barcode Reader?
    • G
      Gabriella BenderSep 6, 2025
If you are experiencing original feed problems with your Contex Barcode Reader, check the supply voltage on the SMPS and LME-Board. If the Stepper Motor is overloaded, check the supply voltage and the Stepper Motor Reference Voltages on the LME-Board. Replacing the LME-Board or the Motor might also be necessary. Remove the Stepper Motor cable connector from J12 on the LME-Board and check the resistance of the two windings of the Stepper Motor.
