Before Each Dive
It is recommended you test the operation and calibration of the
DIVE gauge before each dive. Follow these steps to ensure the
equipment is functioning correctly:
1. Generously smear silicone grease on the face of the
battery
2. Fit the battery to turn the gauge on
3. Check you are using a charged battery – check the
battery level indicator
4. Check the probe membrane is in good condition and
there are NO air bubbles between the membrane and
probe face
5. Plug in the probe connector and check the gauge
identifies the probe correctly
6. If required Zero the probe as instructed
7. Ensure the cap is fitted to the spare connector
8. Test gauge operation by measuring the Test Block
included in the kit (use a drop of couplant gel)
9. Check the calibration is correct for the material you
will be measuring, ideally measuring a known
thickness of the material (For mild steel set the
‘default’ velocity to 5920 m/s)
10. If you are using a top-side link check its operation
11. Visually check the condition of the strap
