4. Check and correct the valve clearance of
cylinder 6. The correct valve clearance is
adjusted by loosening the lock nut and
turning t he adjusting bolt in the correct
direction. See “Technical data” for the
correct valve c learance.

5. By always cranking t he camshaft by 1/3 of a
stroke using the special tool
(DAF no. 1310477), t he valves can be
adjusted according to the injection
sequence 1-5-3-6-2-4.

6. If the engine has been fitted with a DEB, the
DEB clearance must be checked following
the v alve clearance adjustment.
