3.27 CHECKING THE ELECTROPNEUMATIC VALVES OF ABS/ASR
1. Ensure there is an adequate air supply.
2. Connect a pressure gauge to the brake
cylinder of the wheels to be tested.
3. Fully depress the brake pedal. The pressure
in the brake cylinder will increase
proportionally to the force exerted on the
brake pedal.
Note:
Remember the influence of the ALR valve.
4. No air should leak at the v ent of the
electropneumatic valves of the ABS system.
5. Release the brake pedal.
6. Connect DAVIE to the vehicle.
7. Fully depress the brake pedal.
8. Activate the electropneumatic valves of the
ABS using DAVIE and check their reaction
using t he pressure gauge.
9. Release the brake pedal.
10. Activate the electropneumatic valve of the
ASR using DAVIE and check its reaction
using t he pressure gauge.
11. Remove t he pressure gauges and DAVIE.
