First Time Connection to an ECY-STAT
This chapter describes how to get started with an ECY-STAT. This includes connecting to the factory-
default IP address to gain access to the controller’s configuration interfaces.
Connecting to the ECY-STAT
When connecting to the ECY-STAT for the first time, the goal is to gain access to the controller so that
you can configure it to work in its future network environment. To do so, you must connect the ECY-
STAT to form a network.
The Xpress
Network
Utility allows you to discover all ECY-STAT controllers connected to an IP net-
work’s subnetwork and to perform a range of operations on many controllers at once: you can set
each controller’s Hostname and IP address, launch EC-
gfx
Program to program the ECY-STAT, or you
can access the ECY-STAT’s Web interface. It is a software application that runs on a PC that is con-
nected to the same subnetwork as the controllers. See the Xpress

information.
ECY-STAT configuration can also be made through the controller’s configuration Web interface that is
accessed through the Xpress
Network
Utility. This Web interface is used to set all the ECY-STAT’s
configuration parameters including the controller’s IP address according to your network planning. See

There are two networking methods to connect to an ECY-STAT:
£ Wired (Ethernet connection to a router that will act as a DHCP server) with a PC.
£ Wireless with a PC. See Wi-Fi Network Connection.
Once you have connected the controller(s) to a network, configure the controller. See Configuring the
ECY-STAT.
