Safety Precautions
Before you begin to disassemblyreadthe following safety precautionscarefully. Be sure
to follow themwhile you areworking.
DANGER:
1. Always usethe genuine batteries or replacement batteries authorized byToshiba.
Batteries other than thosediffer in specificationsand are incompatible with the
computer. They may burst or explode. To avoid leakage of alkaline solutions,
never heat or disassemblethe battery packs. Never throw the battery packsinto a
fire. If this is violated, theywill explode.
2. The componentssuchasthe power supplyand FL inverter carry high voltages.
When you partially disassemblethe computer and turn on the components,use
extreme care not to touch the connectorsand componentsto avoid the risk of
electrical shock.Do not disassembleindividual componentsduring first-level
maintenance.
WARNING:
1. To avoid the risk of electrical shock,turn the computeroff and removethe AC
adapter from the electrical outlet.
2. Becausethe battery in the computeris left charged, the risk of electrical shock
remains evenafter the AC adapter is removedfrom the electrical outlet. To avoid
the risk of electrical shock, besure to removeany metal jewelry or accessories
suchasnecklaces,bracelets, and rings before starting work. Never work with
dampor wet hands.
3. To avoid personal injury, usecare to avoid the sharp edgesor corners of the
components.
