Installaon and Operaons Manual
The EME/EMD indoor module has been developed to easily
interface with zone control modules that can be used with
zone valves. Zone valves are recommended to have a CV of
at least 8.9 and have 24VAC actuators. These valves can be
powered through the zone controller via the “R” and “C”
terminals on the AV eld terminal strip, as long as the demand
at any me is less than 50VA (approximately 5 valves opening
at once). If the load will exceed this amount, an external
transformer is required.
EAV Input Requirements from Zone Panel
The EME/EMD eld wiring terminal board requires the
following dry contact input pairs:
HEAT: Radiant heang demand input (outdoor reset
controlled temperature)
HHEAT: Air handler heang demand input (125°F outlet
temperature)
COOL: Air handler cooling demand input (low temperature
water)

NOTE: 7, 9, and 11 to be connected to common at the Hydro-
Connect zone panel (OC, Y2C, and Y1C). Pins 7 and 9 must be
connected to the RC terminal at the EWC zone board.

THIS SYSTEM MUST USE DRY CONTACT INPUTS.
DO NOT SUPPLY 24VAC ACROSS THE TERMINALS.

WHEN THE FAN COIL WILL BE USED FOR HEATING
AND COOLING, THE EAV UNIT PROVIDES 120°F
WATER TEMPERATURE SUPPLIED TO THE FLOOR
CALLING AT THE SAME TIME AS THE FAN COIL, 125°F
WATER WILL ALSO BE SUPPLIED TO THE FLOOR.
ENERTECH RECOMMENDS THAT A DUAL SENSING
THERMOSTAT BE USED FOR RADIANT ZONES WHEN
THE FAN COIL WILL BE USED FOR HEATING TO AVOID
OVERHEATING THE SLAB. IF THE FAN COIL IS ONLY
USED FOR COOLING, THE WATER TEMPERATURE
SENT TO THE FLOOR WILL BE BASED UPON THE
