Connecting to the Console Port
The RS-232 console port uses a standard 8-pin RJ45 connector. The pinout is listed in Table 2-2. An
RJ45 to DB9 adapter is provided with the switch, but you must provide your own RJ45 to RJ45
straight-through console cable.
To connect to the console port:
Warning: Do not connect or disconnect any connections while circuit is live, unless area is known
to be non-hazardous. Secure any external connections that mate to this equipment by using the
screws, safety bars, or other means provided with this equipment.
