Non-Industrial-Use Mini-GBICs
The following Mini-GBICs should not be used in industrial or hazardous environments, or in
environments where temperatures may reach down to -40
o
C or up to +60
o
C. Refer to Table A-13
for a list of industrial-use Mini-GBICs.
I-MGBIC-GLX Provides one LC fiber-optic single-mode port that is compliant with the
1000BASE-LX standard and has an LC connector. Requires SFP retention
bracket (850A0102-04-N) which is mounted on the I-Series chassis at
shipment.
I-MGBIC-GZX Provides one LC fiber-optic single-mode port that is compliant with the
1000BASE-ELX standard and has an LC connector. Requires SFP retention
bracket (850A0102-04-N) shipped with the I-Series chassis. which is
mounted on the I-Series chassis at shipment.
I-MGBIC-GTX Provides one RJ45 copper connection that is compliant with the 1000BASE-T
standard and has an RJ45 connector. Requires copper retention bracket
(850A0109-02-N), included in the MGIB package and shipped with the I-
Series chassis.
Note: If the I-Series switch will be installed in a Class 1, Division 2 hazardous environment, you
must install the retention bracket over each port in which an industrial grade Mini-GBIC is installed
as listed in Tabl e A -13.
These retention brackets are not required for use in non-hazardous environments and will not fit
over standard Mini-GBICs such as those listed in Table A-14.
