Hardware Installation
This chapter provides the instructions required to install the 1G694-13. Follow the order of the
sections as listed below to correctly install the switch.
• Unpacking the switch (Section 3.2)
• Installing options (Section 3.3)
• Installing an optional Ethernet expansion module (Section 3.4)
• Installing an optional Mini-GBIC (Section 3.5)
• Installing an optional 10GBASE-LR (Section 3.6)
• Tabletop or shelf installation (Section 3.7)
• Rackmount installation (Section 3.8)
• Connecting to the network (Section 3.9)
• Connecting to the Console port for local management (Section 3.10)
• Completing the installation (Section 3.11)
3.1 REQUIRED TOOLS
A Phillips screwdriver is required to install the switch into a rack.
Electrical Hazard: Only qualified personnel should install or service this unit.
