3.11 COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION
After installing the 1G694-13 and making the connections to the network, secure the cables by
running the cables along the strain-relief bracket and tying them to the strain-relief bracket using
cable ties.
Initial Logon to Device Management
For the initial logon to the 1G694-13, use the console port and configure the switch using the
command line interface (CLI). To initially access the device management from your local pc,
terminal, or modem connection, follow the instructions below:
1. Enter rw (Read-Write) for Username.
2. At the Password prompt, press Enter (Return).
For details on how to configure the 1G694-13 using the command line interface, refer to the
Matrix E1 1G694-13 Configuration Guide. The CLI commands enable you to initially set up and
perform more involved switch management configurations.
After the initial configuration, you can also use WebView (Enterasys Networks’ embedded web
server) for configuration and management tasks, refer to the Matrix E1 1G694-13 WebView User’s
Guide.
