Compatible instruments
You may only connect an instrument to the unit if the instrument’s user manual indi-
cates that the instrument is compatible with the unit.
The supported instrument plugs are described in the chapter Description of socket
hardware. If you have a compatible instrument whose plug does not fit, you can insert
an adapter between the plug and the socket.
If you have an instrument without a cable, connect a suitable cable.
Please see the Erbe accessories catalog for adapters and cables.
Check compatibility of instrument and CUT / COAG mode
1. Determine the electrical capacity
of the instrument
The maximum electrical capacity of the instrument is indicated on the instrument or
in the instrument's notes on use. The unit of measurement for electrical capacity is Vp.
For example, an instrument can have a maximum electrical capacity of 4
kVp
(4000
Vp). Another instrument can have a maximum electrical capacity of 800 Vp. You
are not permitted to load the instrument beyond these values.

Electric load on instrument too high
The instrument can be damaged.
If the damaged area comes into contact with tissue, it can lead to
unintentional coagulation.
Determine the electrical capacity of the instrument. It is either
printed on the instrument or can be found in the User Manual.
Compare the electrical capacity of the instrument with the max-
imum HF peak voltage of the required mode.
Observe the following instructions.
