Chapter 9
Bipolar Modes
BIPOLAR (= BIPOLAR SOFT COAG)
Properties
There is no sparking which prevents carbonization of the tissue and reduces adhesion
of the electrode to the tissue considerably.
Areas of use
All surgical procedures that require safe coagulation with bipolar instruments.
AUTO START
Available for the VIO 100 C only.
You can assign the AUTO START function to the bipolar socket – and thus the BIPOLAR
SOFT COAG mode – in the area for selecting the activation type.
The AUTO START function causes the COAG current to activate automatically after you
have used a bipolar instrument to grasp the tissue to be coagulated.
Suitable electrodes
Bipolar instruments, e.g. bipolar forceps.
