Connect unit and switch on
Make power connection
Note: Use the compatible Erbe power cord (see the Accessories, Compatible power
cords chapter).
1. Check that the line voltage matches the voltage specified on the unit's rating
plate.
2. Connect the unit to a properly installed grounded outlet.
Switch on unit
Note: When restarting, the unit always loads the program last used when the unit was
switched off. The saved program settings are loaded. Any program changes not saved
from the last time the unit was used are no longer available.
1. Use the power switch to switch the unit on and observe the display elements.
The unit then carries out a self-test and checks all sockets. All display elements il-
luminate. After completing the self-test, the settings of the active program flash.
Note: If a display element does not illuminate during the self-test, the display element
is defective. A unit with a defective display element must not be used.
2. Check the visible settings and confirm by pressing any button, e.g. selection but-
ton.
Select/switch program
If you want to use program different than the program currently displayed, press
the selection button next to the program display.
Connect monopolar/bipolar instruments
You can connect a monopolar instrument and a bipolar instrument to the unit at the
same time. However, for safety reasons they can only be activated alternately. HF volt
-
age is only ever carried by one socket.
Note: When using an instrument make sure you also observe the notes on use for the
instrument.
WARNING
Electric load on instrument too high
The instrument can be damaged.
If the damaged area comes into contact with tissue, it can lead to
unintentional coagulation.
Determine the electrical capacity of the instrument. It is either
printed on the instrument or can be found in the User Manual.
Compare the electrical capacity of the instrument with the max-
imum HF peak voltage of the required mode.
Instructions are available in the "Accessories" chapter.
