Setting options for the unit
Programs and program-
parameters
You can choose between 2 different programs on the VIO 50 C and between 4 different
programs on the VIO
100 C.
The programs were programmed at the factory. They can be used for certain instru-
ments or instrument combinations without having to make any changes to the pro-
gram parameters (see page 47).
You can change and save the following settings within a program as required (see
page
59):
Socket in focus at program start: The socket in focus is the socket whose settings
the unit currently displays.
CUT and COAG modes: Cutting and coagulation modes
CUT and COAG power limitations: The power limitation is a measure of the inten-
sity of the coagulation for both the CUT and COAG modes. A higher power limita-
tion means faster coagulation or a deeper coagulation zone during the same
activation period. A power limitation as low as possible protects the patient and
instrument from injury or damage.
Assignment of the footswitch to one of the instrument sockets
AUTO START function: Automatic activation of the COAG HF current of the bipolar
socket (available for the VIO 100 C only)
In addition to the program parameters, it is possible to modify other general unit pa-
rameters:
Setup settings
The setup settings affect various display parameters of the unit, e.g. the volume of the
tones. The user can change the settings (see page
62).
Service settings
Note: The service settings are inaccessible to the user. An Erbe service engineer can
adjust/change the service settings based on your requirements.
Important service settings affecting operation of the unit include for example:
Maximum ON time: Time period after which the unit automatically interrupts acti-
vation after sustained use (the unit can be reactivated at any time).
